• Luis Boza AIA, NCARB

    Luis is a licensed architect, academic and educator with over 30 years of experience working on a range of project types including residential, commercial, civic, educational, public space and urban art installations in both the academic and professional realms. In 2006, Luis co-founded reform, llc with Matthew Geiss in order to bridge the gap between academic research and professional practice. At reform, llc, Luis currently searches for opportunities in which academic research and collaboration can embed itself in the firm’s projects. He is also involved in all phases of the firms work from design to construction administration as well as overall firm operations.

    In addition to his role at reform, llc, Luis is also a tenured Associate Professor at The Catholic University of America’s School of Architecture and Planning. He has held various appointments such as Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies, Director for The Summer Institute of Architecture, Director for the Master’s level graduate concentration in Design Technologies, and Director for the Comprehensive Building Design Studio. His work has been published, presented, exhibited and received prestigious awards at various national and international venues. Luis is also one of three founding faculty members of The Catholic University of America Design Collaborative (CUAdc), a non-profit architectural design firm providing services to community groups in the District of Columbia.

    Prior to establishing reform, llc, Luis held prior positions with Core, PC in Washington, DC and with Kennedy & Violich Architecture (KVA) in Boston, MA. While at KVA, his work on the East / Harlem River Ferry Landings Project received a Progressive Architecture Award and an Award for Excellence in Design from The Art Commission of the City of New York.

    Luis Boza received his Master of Architecture from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design and Bachelor of Architecture from Catholic University of America’s School of Architecture and Planning. Luis’s expertise and research focuses on the use of computer aided design, manufacturing and advanced building technologies and their impacts on the ways in which people experience space.

  • Matthew Geiss AIA, NCARB

    Matthew is a licensed architect and educator with nearly 25 years of experience working on a broad range of project types from residential to interiors to commercial base building. He co-founded reform, llc with Luis Boza in 2006 and is engaged in all aspects of current projects and firm operations. In addition to practice, Matthew teaches architecture at the Catholic University of America where he has served in a variety of capacities (including visiting faculty, studio critic, lecturer and thesis director) since 2005.

    Prior to establishing reform, llc he worked as a project designer at Grater Architects in Clayton, NY and STUDIOS Architecture in Washington, DC. While at Grater Architects, he worked primarily on high-end residential projects along the St. Lawrence River in Upstate New York. At STUDIOS, he worked on high profile projects such as XM Satellite Radio Headquarters, Bloomberg’s New York Headquarters and the Pentagon Renovation Project.

    Matthew received his Bachelor of Architecture from Syracuse University’s School of Architecture and his Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture Planning and Preservation. Matthew’s expertise lies in the areas of materials research, digital design and digital fabrication. He is constantly searching for ways to expand his knowledge of technological advances in design softwares and fabrication techniques which continue to evolve at ever faster rates.
